We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source an Electrical Engineer. This is a long-term contract role working on a residential basis. Please see details below.
Title: Electrical Engineer
Start Date: ASAP (typically within 1 month notice)
Duration: 24 Months
Location: Qatar Site (Ras Laffan) / Doha HQ
Working Schedule: 5 days per week / 8-10 hours per day

Job Purpose
Perform Electrical engineering activities for Projects Engineering Support Division ensuring that all activities comply with company standards and establishes work structure in meeting Project schedule and completion.
Key Job Accountabilities
Ensure electrical engineering activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements, project specifications and approved variations if any.
Resolve engineering issues that may arise and communicate with the Project Execution Team. Elevate issues to higher levels when necessary.
Develop, update and amend various policies and procedures related to Projects Management Department as and when required in consultation with the Head of Projects Engineering Support and other team members.
Support the engineering team of external organizations, entities appointed representatives to ensure engineering design addresses each companies expectations consistent with Client and Projects objectives.
Participate in framing sessions, technical input to Scope of work (SoW), responds to technical clarifications during BID evaluations
Attend Design Reviews/ FRAs/ Construction Readiness meetings any other meeting related to the projects
Participate in project studies e.g Load and voltage drop, short circuit analysis, power system, relay coordination studies and others.
Review and approve technical deliverable documents pertaining to the handled projects .
Evaluate complex tasks and provide appropriate recommendations to management on issues. Provide support to other disciplines and contribute to other multi-disciplinary tasks.
Be familiar with all Project Philosophies and Procedures and ensure that these are applied to the specification, design and procurement of electrical items.
Ensures compliance with client systems and processes including the Client Project Management System (PMS) and maintains support and adoption of all processes. Prepare plans and work schedules that ensure effective completion of projects.
Monitors and provides necessary guidance to the FEED, EPC Contractor(s) and all 3rd Party Services throughout the project phases. Ensures the facilities are constructed per the scope, meeting Client standards and specifications, within the time and project cost approved by the shareholders.
Support other engineers in complex analyses and assignments and provides expertise to ensure completion of activities within schedule.
Mentor the National Developee as per the development plan
Qualifications
–Minimum Requirements–
Degree in Engineering or Science majoring in Electrical Engineering
Knowledge and Key Skills
Minimum 8 years experience in the area of specialization within Oil and Gas industry, of which 4 years are in project management team role.
