Arabic Lead Translator Job Description
The Role:
The Arabic Lead Translator is responsible for translating and proofreading our technology clients marketing communications, working closely with editors, and creative directors, and building and leading a team of translators to maintain the highest possible translation standards. The ideal candidate should be tech-savvy, with a keen eye and exceptional attention to detail to ensure clarity and accuracy in all copy projects. They should be flexible, adaptable, and results-driven, with the ability to work with stakeholders, internal and external partners, and project managers. The ideal candidate should also be able to handle and prioritize translation assignments in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Translate and proofread Arabic copy for the clients brand and products
Train new team members and lead a team of translators
Ensure a clear division, delegation, and allocation of workload and briefs among team members
Review the quality of translation delivered by each translator and set improvement areas when needed
Have a thorough oversight of briefs assigned to translators
Guide and maintain the quality of all translations
Help maintain the clients brand tone of voice across all communications
Work with validation teams to always take translation quality to the next level
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely delivery
Leverage glossaries and style guides to align with the brands tone of voice
Ensure accuracy, technically and linguistically
Requirements:
A degree in communications, translation, or linguistics
A minimum of 8 years of experience in translating and editing marketing and technical materials, preferably as a lead
Experience in working for global technology brands or products
Experience in using computer-aided translation tools (CAT tools such as Trados)
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work as a team member
The ability to perform effectively and efficiently under time pressure
Full command of the Arabic language and grammar
In-depth knowledge and understanding of the English language
Ideal candidates should have a previous localization experience at an advertising agency, localization, or transcreation agency
Must be based in the UAE with the ability to travel as required
