Job Description
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Material Inspector to join our team! In this role you will get to conduct field inspection of various types of structures to document their condition with respect to materials and their requirements for any potential repairs or maintenance needs.
What You’ll Be Doing
Perform difficult and sometimes complex inspection tasks under supervision of a team leader.
Conducting field inspection of various types of structures to document their condition with respect to materials and their requirements for any potential repairs or maintenance needs.
Inspecting structures for signs of structural or non-structural defect such as cracks in concrete or metal, corrosion of embedded or exposed metals, or general signs of wear and tear of elements such as expansion joints, joint sealants, railings, coating/paint systems, etc.
Supervise any third party testing (destructive or non-destructive) of the structures, if required.
Collecting field data and maintaining detailed records of all inspections.
Assist in identifying recommended corrective and maintenance activities.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field with 7+ years of experience in infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with all materials used in highway and bridge construction and their testing.
Computer literacy and excellent communication skills are essential.
Minimum 5 years Abu Dhabi or Gulf region project experience
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring
Knowledge of up-to-date testing procedures and methods and construction specifications.
Specific knowledge of inspection techniques and procedures as well as new materials.
Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance programs.
Must be able to read and interpret construction as-built drawings and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction-related processes related to area of assignment.
