What you’ll do

You’ll love what you do and take pride in delighting our guests:

You will be responsible for supporting the Guest Experience Manager in driving continuous improvement of our guest experience during the night shift, enhancing the hotel service proposition and efficiency of processes as well as driving key hotel projects in support of our strategic priorities and business goals. You will greatly contribute to the processes and activities that create and promote the Dorchester Collection culture, values and bring the Company Philosophy “We Care” to life ensuring our employees and guests receive nothing but the best experience.
You’ll have experience working in luxury hotels, delivering unique, tailored and personalized experiences and you will be responsible together with other front of house leaders to guide and inspire the host team to ensure our guests receive nothing but the best experience.
You’ll serve as the manager on duty and oversee all property operations during the overnight shift. You will ensure communication across the department is flawless and assist in the response and resolution of all guest issues.
Our Night Manager is responsible, in the absence of the Guest Experience Manager, for the oversight and influence over the guest experience during the night shift throughout all phases of the guest journey. You will have to ensures all service delivery and operational processes are rooted in Guest Centricity. You will also elevate hotel programs to fulfill the guest emotional needs. You will direct and partner with operational leadership to ensure service execution is consistent across all outlets.
You will support the other leaders in coaching the team to be guest centric.
You will be fully aware of our emergency procedure (i.e. in case of fire) defined in the Emergency Evacuation Operations Plan and be able to handle such situations.
You will complete designated cashier and closing reports in the computer system. You will also review shift logs daily memo books and document pertinent information in logbooks.

What you’ll bring

You’ll bring your unique personality and passion to the role and the team.
You have a talent and strategic agility effectively managing short and long term business goals and ability to anticipate, identify and translate into innovative business solutions.
You have a strong understanding of the LQA and Gallup survey tools as well as systems like Opera & Hotsos which are your strengths coupled with strong numerical & financial skills and an advanced proficiency level in IT applications in particular Excel and PowerPoint.
You have a proven ability to analyze complex data, recommend improvement strategies, communicate and train at all levels in the practical application of statistical methods and tools.
You will have strong presentation skills, the ability to present financial impact of recommendations made and sell ideas persuasively, influence without direct authority showing a high level of emotional intelligence to adapt to various cultural settings and situations.
As a detail orientated and hands on Team Player with strong interpersonal skills, you will thrive on mentoring team members to achieve better results and celebrate success within the team.
Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. You have great communication skills with a strong customer service and business ethic.
English is the primary language used in our hotel. You can comfortably communicate in this language.
