Advisian is currently seeking to fill the position of? Principal Materials Handling Engineer?for our Ports & Marine Business Line?in the EMEA Region.
Education
BEng(Hons) in Mechanical or Process Engineering
Chartered Status preferred
Good Written and Spoken English
Minimum 20 Years Experience
The candidate will be expected to:
Manage the delivery of materials handling projects from Front End Consultancy and Feasibility Studies through to detailed design. This will include coordinating Global Resources together with design centres. The projects will be both solely Materials Handling and also a package within bigger projects.
Undertake Asset Inspections
Develop Asset Maintenance Capability
Be responsible for QA/QC in delivery
Contribute to Business Development Strategy
Interface with broader business development and operations teams to grow contacts
Develop and support proposals
Control Costs on delivery
Recruit and build team to match work load
Grow expert Material Handling Advisory services to target government authorities, project developers and financiers around master planning, valuations, financial decisions and policy in regards new projects, transaction advisory, feasibility studies and combined management and technical advisory solutions;
It is expected that the right candidate will grow the materials handling group into an EMEA Practice within the Advisian Transportation, Infrastructure and Logistics group.

Operational experience would be useful
Dry Materials Handling is a core skill but Liquid and gas products would be useful
Rail (Pit to Port) experience would be useful
Support the development of junior staff
