This is an Italian high-end luxury fashion company based in Florence, Italy. Its product lines include handbags, ready-to-wear, shoes, accessories and home decor; and it licenses its name and trademark to Coty, Inc. for fragrances and cosmetics under the name Gucci Beauty. Guccio Gucci (1881-1953) founded Gucci in 1921  in Florence, Tuscany. Under the leadership of Aldo Gucci (Gucci’s son), Gucci became a world-famous brand, an icon of the Italian Dolce Vita.

 After a family feud in the 1980s, the Gucci family was completely pushed out of the company’s capital by 1993. In 1999,  the French conglomerate Pinault Printemps Redoute bought Gucci, which later became Kering. In the 2010s, Comapny became an iconic “geek-chic” brand. At 2019, Gucci had 487 stores with 17,157 employees and a turnover of 9.628 billion euros (2018: 8.2 billion euros). Marco Bizzarri served as CEO of Gucci since December 2014 and Alessandro Michele as Creative Director from January 2015 to November 23, 2022. This is a subsidiary of the French luxury group named Kering.

Gucci’s holding company Guccio its is situated in Florence, Italy and is a subsidiary of the French luxury group Kering. In 2018, it had 540 stores with 14,628 employees. The company’s turnover was 9.628 billion euros (8.2 billion euros in 2018) and profit 3.947 billion euros (3.2 billion euros in 2018). In 2011, the company opened the Gucci Museum (Gucci Museo) in Florence’s 14th-century Palazzo della Mercanzia  to celebrate its 90th anniversary.

In 2008, This established the Gucci Tribeca Documentary Fund, an $80,000 fund to finance  social change films shown at the Tribeca Film Festival. By 2011, the fund had grown to $150,000, including $50,000 for the newly established Women’s Documentary Award. In 2011,  it also presented the “Gucci Award for Women in Cinema” at the Venice Film Festival to highlight the influence of women in film production. Between 2005 and 2015, it donated $20 million to UNICEF’s African School Program. When Chime for Change was created, it became a funding vehicle for the Gucci-UNICEF partnership.  Frida Giannini, Salma Hayek and BeyoncĂ© founded Chime for Change in February 2013 as a global campaign to improve education, health and justice for women around the world.

In June 2013, Chime for Change hosted the Sound of Change Live concert, which raised $4 million to fund 200 projects in 70 countries. On December 2013, It partnered with Twitter and Women Who Code to create Chime Hack, a hackathon for women. it sells a yellow T-shirt that says “My Body My Choice” and donates the proceeds to Chime for Change. In July 2013, activist Lydia Emily was commissioned to paint a mural on Los Angeles’ Skid Row of a woman named Jessica, who survived human trafficking. On January 2019, Chime for Change launched the ‘To Gather Together’ wall campaign on gender equality, designed by  artist MP5.

In 2020, Company launched an “Unconventional Beauty” advertising campaign featuring a model with Down syndrome. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it pledged 2 million euros to two crowdfunding campaigns, the first supporting the Italian Public Service Department and the second  the  Solidarity FundCOVID-19. In 2015, ths is launched its Environmental Profit and Loss Initiative. On October 2017, Gucci announced that it would ban fur from its stores in 2018. In June 2018, the brand launched “Equilibrium”, a platform to communicate  its social and environmental activities and progress. On September 2019, Marco Bizzarri It announced his intention to become completely carbon neutral. In 2020, company joined the  Lion’s Share Fund run by UNDP to support nature conservation.
