Pagani announced a version of the Zonda called the “Zonda Cinque”, which was launched as a 2009 model. The Cinque is based on the track-only Zonda R, but has a new 678 hp. (687 hp; 506 kW) Mercedes-Benz M297 V12 engine, active aerodynamics and external elements made of a newly developed material called “carbon-titanium fiber”, which is stronger and lighter than regular carbon fiber. Only five were produced,and all of which that have already had been talked about.
In July 2009, Pagani announced the Zonda Cinque Roadster, of which only five were produced. The car uses the same Mercedes-Benz M297 V12 engine as the coupe version, but has been made lighter and stronger to keep the car structurally rigid. At the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, Pagani unveiled the exclusive Zonda Tricolore, built to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Italian Air Force’s Frecce Tricolori. Originally intended to be limited to one car, three were later produced. The Tricolore is based on the top spec Zonda Cinque, built on a carbon titanium chassis with a sequential drive train and titanium exhaust pipes.
